Gyrotonic movement aids in the element of fluidity needed in Pilates. GyrotonicsMovement using a Gyrotonic tower encourages the body into a circular range of movement which opens up a wave-like motion of the spine. Using gravity, the body is taken through an "undoing" process so that the person can begin to restore a fluid postural state. In this state the person can switch between the stability created by core muscles and the stability created by a fluid body uninhibited by muscle tension.
